In a world beyond websites it can be a challenge to let your brand take flight in the digital sphere. At KITESTRING, we are focused on building social strategies to help our clients engage in the conversation. This spring, we hosted The Right Angle to launch a new platform for education our clients and community about managing their messages online, protecting their brand image, and problem-solving with confidence and creativity.
Early in the morning on Tuesday May 21, our team arrived at The Art Gallery of Hamilton to welcome guests to an exclusive event featuring expert advice, elegant nibbles, and energetic networking. A Bubbly Brunch kicked off the festivities with indulgent morning marche stations featuring crepes, mini waffles, fresh fruit, parfaits, pastries, and a whimsical cereal buffet. Of course, no brunch is complete without a bubbly bar, and a trio of custom mimosas flowed freely all morning – the perfect way to relax and enjoy the creative conversation flowing through the gorgeously sunny space.
After an hour, our Keynote speaker took the stage - Scott Stratten (President, Un-Marketing) as shared his expertise in Viral, Social, and Authentic Marketing which he calls Un-Marketing. He spoke about how engaging your online community can make your business thrive if you can yourself as a trusted expert in front of your target market, so when they have the need, they choose you. His amusing anecdotes served to drive home the lessons about customer service, thoughtful messaging, and selecting the right mediums for marketing.
Next up, the audience got involved with a #KITESTRINGQandA featuring a panel of 5 experts who answered every question thrown at them! Including Scott Stratten, Jamie Stein (Senior Manager - Social Media, ING Direct), Christine Zakrajsek (Web and Social Media Manager, EllisDon), Michelle Dias (Social Media Specialist, Goodlife Fitness), and Kyle Kuchmey, (President, New Motto; former Alumni Officer - Digital Communications, McMaster University), the panel was a powerhouse of crisis resolution everything you ever wanted to know about social media management but were afraid to ask.
As guests departed with farewell gifts of Scott’s two books (Un-Marketing, The Book of Business Awesome/UnAwesome) and a #KITESTRINGCocktailColourStory recipe swatch book of the morning’s mimosas, it was just about lunch time, and time for the team to head back to the studio to work on the next iteration of THE RIGHT ANGLE. Starting this fall, KITESTRING will offer a new series of consultation services, training sessions, and online resources. From full or half day workshops on platforms like Facebook, to personalized social media audits, to introductory seminars for your staff, our suite of offerings will be available at kitestring.ca/social.
