Not everyone is working for the weekend

The past few weeks I have come into to work, bright and early, Monday morning and my kitestring team members always ask…

“How was your weekend?”

My response has  recently been…

“Too long!”

As an entrepreneur the weekend means something different to me. I can still work, if I want. I can still imagine, if I want. I can still do everything I do at the office everyday during the week, if I want. But there is one thing I can’t do.

Collaborate.

I have been spoiled by working with some of the brightest and best in Hamilton when it comes to communications, design, brand architecture and strategic marketing.  My brain is constantly stimulated every day of the week.  Don’t get me wrong, the weekend brings lots of goodness. I can sit and relax, clean my house, hit the movies, all the great things extra time provides. But by Sunday night I am craving a brain storm session or a meeting with a new entrepreneur, or even a last minute change to a print piece that needs to be in the clients hands ‘like yesterday’.

This observation leads me to believe one thing. I’m doing what I’m suppose to be doing and I’m doing it with the right people.

Friday does mean something different to me now. But not feeling sick to my stomach to drive into work on Monday morning means so much more.

I hope you have a great weekend. See you on Monday.
