My Escape

I found out a very exciting tid-bit of information last week…there’s a new Chapters store coming to town – and it’s only a walk away from me!
This news immediately filled my head with warm and fuzzy thoughts of spending time wandering around the store browsing with a Starbucks in hand.
Why can a simple thing like a bookstore excite me so much? Good question. I’ve spent some time over the past week exploring just that.
I’ve come to realize that for me, it’s not just a trip to purchase a book – it’s an experience.
It’s one of the few places that I can wander around at my leisure without someone asking if I need help or have a sales person impatiently following me around. It’s also a quiet getaway for just me and my thoughts (being a busy mom, wife and business owner – this definitely a luxury).
I usually choose to visit Chapters on the days that I’m not feeling ‘on my game’. As I make my way through aisles and browse, I’m always filled with a renewed sense of inspiration. Perhaps it’s the magic of books, maybe it’s the magic of the store.
Sometimes I leave with a book, sometimes I don’t – but, I always leave feeling like I just ‘escaped’ reality for a while.
See you there!
