I’m going to the bathroom now

There is a new social media tool, Foursquare, that is on the rise and is said to replace twitter by next year. Do I believe this? Doesn’t matter if I do. I signed up for it last night and when I tried to use it I found myself saying “I don’t get it.”
I said the same thing about twitter 2 years ago. Why are people afraid of change?
How many times have you heard, form a twitter hater, “I don’t need to know when you’re going to the bathroom. I don’t have time for that!” When was the last time you tweeted about going to the bathroom? Never I’m sure. So why then do many laggers think this?
Tweeting is more than bathroom updates. In the simplest terms, it’s sharing information and developing relationships.
I heard someone say once at a networking event “tweeting is for bird brains.” If that is true there are 18 million bird brains worldwide. Sometimes it’s hard to jump on the bandwagon. But if you decide not to take the ride, don’t complain when you’re left in the dust.
I’m gonna give this Foursquare a chance. Who knows. It might be the best thing since sliced bread.
Ok, I have to use the bathroom now.
These are the musings about a business brainchild contained within a creative confectionery of a mind. His blog entries often look at how making friends and building your brand online is a lot like making it on the playground.

Foursquare sounds great! It mixes a Twitter-like world with geo-location, and throws a gaming element into it! If you go somewhere enough, you become the “Mayor” of that location, and you can oust others as Mayor. There are even businesses who provide perks to their Mayor, for example, the Mayor gets free drinks at the pub…
I think this adds a fun, gaming aspect to things, and also brings businesses into the mix.
I just can’t wait until they expand their cities, and push out their “Foursquare Everywhere” feature! Although, being in Brantford, I’ll probably be the only one using it…so lonely.
Brandon, I just downloaded Gowalla for my iPhone and I love!!!!!
