What’s the HYPE?

Even though it rained (hard) this past Wednesday afternoon and soaked through some t-shirts, Hamilton’s young creative professionals and entrepreneurs got together at the Bad Dog Cafe on Locke Street. Most of us had the right idea and found a dry way of transporting themselves over, but some of us (myself, Jenn and Chris) marched under the storm cloud with umbrellas in hand. I think I can say on behalf of everyone who came out, it was a goooood time! Delicious food, savory Caesars, smiling faces – you get the idea. If you have never attended a HYPE event, get your social on at our next meet in the Fall. See you then!

2009 was a GREAT year at kitestring. So much was going on, from really exciting projects and wonderful clients, some super fun events, great press coverage and the relaunch of our brand and website. Here is a little review for all our followers:

BIG TICKET ITEMS

We had a great article in the SPEC last week, on Cable 14′s new show Hamilton Life, 93.3 FM interviewed us at Supercrawl. I was interviewed in HMAG and in the Durander. I was also asked 10 Tough Questions on the Hamiltonian Blog. Holy Cow! Can you say Media Ladies of The Night. kitestring hosted TEDxHamilton in September and Holiday Hype in December. We launched our “What was I thinking” contest and gave away $15,000 of our services to Linda Crawford of Heavenly Bodies.

Projects

From innovative print pieces to websites that work for you, we have done it all this year.

Brands

kitestring successfully launched over 15 brands this year, including 3 kids stores, two local events and a bottle of red. Below are some examples.

kitestring

We hired Meg, our communications rockstar. And we love her. We redesigned our site and startionary and have secured ourselves in the market as the leaders in branding and design. BOO-YA!

2010

What’s in store for kitestring this coming year. Anything is possible. But here are a few things I know for sure.

• Hamilton’s first Tweetup, Jan.28th – Tweet @kitestring for more info

• The launch of Heavinly Bodies new brand, name and website

• A shocking billboard. That’s all I’m going to say about that

• Ladies Choice AutoCare website launch and Tv Spot

I hope each and every one of you have a very safe and happy New Year. See you next decade!

Chris

HYPE is ON!
Wednesday at the London Tap House lower level after your 9 to 5!
Here’s what is on the menu:
Networking:
-Sink or Swim
-Like or Dislike
-Getting to know you and how

I love this topic because everyone has an opinion on it and in this city, the business world of networking can seem tiny. So lets mix it up and learn from other’s tales.

What’s the HYPE?

HYPE is a business networking group for young professionals and entrepreneurs in the Hamilton community. This network aims to empower its members to achieve their full potential.

HYPE will provide its members with a creative and non-competitive forum to build relationships with other like-minded professionals and entrepreneurs resulting in a support and referral network to grow their business. This is accomplished by focusing activities on three key areas:

· Networking Events: Provide creative and open networking opportunities to its members

· Professional Development: Facilitate an opportunity for members to strategically grow their business and knowledge base via member workshops and guest speakers

· Support Network: Establish a network of community partners and resources that can provide expertise to young and upcoming businesses

Make sure to check back here for all updates to the group and listing of future events!
