We’re so excited to launch the ellephysio brand, we can hardly contain our excitement! Not only is ellephysio the first physiotherapy clinic with a female focus in the region, but we’re helping ellephysio launch its innovative niche concept with an “elle-o-meter”; a pledge to foster African elephants on behalf of those who join their growing online community on Facebook. For every 50 “likes” ellephysio will foster one elephant with The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to celebrate the launch. Always thrilled to see our clients find deserving success, kitestring achieved ellephysio’s branding goals so founder Karen Neill can help local female athletes reach theirs.

Burlington based physiotherapist, Karen Neill Reg. PT, founded ellephysio in response to a growing demand for a physiotherapy clinic that caters especially to young active women and semi to professional female athletes. The brand’s foundation takes from Karen’s “ellephilosophy,” based on the premise that all of her patient’s success comes from finding confidence from within.

Yesterday I was part of the Cossart Exchange’s segment on Cable 14′s For The Record. I love when my job gives me a reason to see Jackie Van Dinther! She’s awesome, and she did a great job as guest host of the show!

We talked with Amanda De Freitas, Artistic Director of Live In Life, a performing arts education and entertainment company. We were joined by Stephanie Seagram from the Cossart Exchange to talk about creative ways for start-up arts based organizations can get themselves noticed and attract students.

Short and sweet, we’re the second segment in after a segment on Hamilton’s community gardens.

And now, kitestring proudly acknowledges the reason why ladies across the first world are taking April 29th off as an anticipatory “Sick Day”: The Royal Wedding!

It’s time to pay homage to the future Princess of Whales. Literally, because we’re enamored by the fanfare of “Will & Kate” encrusted plates, stamps, coins and tea cozies, …and figuratively, because we all know that an something like an estimated .000000000003% of your taxes go to the monarch hope chest.

Maybe you’ve bought a fake matching sapphire engagement ring and have already ordered your scones from a local bakery for the event. Maybe you couldn’t care less and even consider watching T-Mobile’s viral sensation (that imitation-Camilla Parker Bowles is the spitting image!) as too much of a commitment. We’ve heard both sides of the story.

But something else is happening on that day that only happens once in a blue moon: the Creative Director at kitestring, none other than Chris Farias, has scheduled a day off. He hasn’t taken a “day off” in a decade.

Coincidence?

Who can say.

If you’re looking for a place to ring in the royal nuptials with like-hatted ladies and gents while supporting a great cause, attend the Hamilton Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club Royal Wedding Breakfast at The Loft Lounge at the Sheridan Hotel in Hamilton. You’ll have to wake up super early (it starts at 5:30 am), but there will be tea and crumpets aplenty! For tickets, contact Diane Chiarelli (President of the local grandparent’s association, We Rock) by calling 905-523-9656.

There’s nothing like the smell of career speed-dating in the morning. Yesterday at the 2011 Communication Studies and Multimedia Networking Breakfast, students were hungry for a taste of what its like to work in the industry. And for those students who’s worst fear would be having to ask, “Would you like fries with that?” this means serious business and serious questions. I tried my best to tell each table everything I knew about how I nabbed a gig at kitestring almost two years ago. I also emphasized that not all jobs are created equal; and that there’s a lot to say about good fitting workplace culture and the other professionals you’ll be sharing it with.  It reminded me how far I’ve come since leaving school and how lucky I am to work with such amazing strategic thinkers who have become the best creative comrades anyone could ask for!

This year, keynote speaker Steve Levy, President of Ipsos Reid Canada, shared his passion for market and advertising research (cool!) while posing the question, “Will change screw you?” This question was really an opener to caution students about the importance of staying on top of ever-changing digital, social and interactive trends as a way to get ahead in their careers. I loved how these points were echoed by Denis Dyack, President of Silicon Knights, who challenged us to own our smartphones without letting them outsmart our ability to manage our own down-time. Nicely played.

Thanks for inviting me, McMaster! #alumnirepresent

She’s all smiles as she supports our brand and market research, copywriting, social media and strategic communications services. We’ve helped Margaret cast her kite so that she can help you cast yours!

Some of our attendees asked that this video be posted from last week’s WeBusiness workshop. The facts moved pretty fast to jot down. However, don’t be overwhelmed by the booming numbers, just ride the wave.

Squirrel
Today (January 21) is Squirrel Appreciation Day! Thank you Huffington Post for lighting up my life! This is almost as fantastic as the day my friend showed me @common_squirrel (run run run) on Twitter. So get out there and chase our nutty nature friends into a corner in an alleyway where there are no climbing options to escape, and hug a squirrel!
